Isn't this just taking Aussie jobs offshore?

Nope. We don't replace your onshore team, we add firepower to it. Your local staff focus on the high-value work that has to be done here, and your offshore team handles the admin and overflow that was eating their time. Your business grows faster, your local team stops drowning. Nobody loses.

How do I know the quality will actually be good?

Every candidate is pre-vetted before you ever meet them. We run our own interview, check setup, check English, check work samples. Then you sit in three final interviews with me and pick your person. On Hire, you get a 6-month replacement guarantee. On Flex, you can swap anytime, no questions asked.

What if it doesn't work out?

On Hatch Hire, we replace the placement free of charge for 6 months. On Hatch Flex, you cancel anytime with 7 days notice. No lock-in contracts, no penalty fees. The whole point of Flex is to test offshore before you commit.

How much does the offshore team member actually get paid?

More than market rate in the Philippines, because we don't bury hidden margins in inflated salaries. You see the salary, they see the salary, our fee is separate and clear. Most full-time placements earn around $1,500 AUD/month direct. Part-time around $750. We're the transparent option, not the exploitative one.

What about FWC compliance and the legal stuff I keep hearing about?

Honest answer: there's no reporting requirement for offshore contractors as long as the engagement is structured properly. Hatch Flex is compliant by design (shared, task-based, async). For full-time placements we offer an optional EOR add-on if you want zero legal exposure. We give you the facts and let you decide, not fear-based marketing.

What about the timezone? Aren't they sleeping when I'm working?

The Philippines is only 2-3 hours behind AEST. So a Filipino team member working 7am to 4pm their time covers 9am to 6pm here in Australia. Plenty of overlap with your day. For tradies who knock off at 3pm, we can also flip it so tasks dropped at the end of your day get done overnight. Wake up, it's done.

How do we communicate with our offshore team member?

However you want. Most clients use Slack, WhatsApp, or email. For Hatch Hire placements, you set them up like any team member: meetings, project tools, your own systems. For Hatch Flex, you brief tasks via a shared channel or our intake form. Async, no fixed call times.

Do they speak good English?

Yes. The Philippines has the highest English proficiency in Southeast Asia and English is an official language there. Every candidate we shortlist has near-native business English, both written and spoken. We screen for it before they ever get to your interview.

What kind of roles can I actually offshore?

Anything that can be done remotely. Most common: virtual assistants, customer support, bookkeeping, social media management, graphic design, video editing, appointment setting, marketing assistants, web development, copywriting, real estate admin, e-commerce support. If a desk-based role can be done over the internet, it can be offshored.

When can my new offshore team member start?

We run two start dates per month so onboarding is batched cleanly and aligned with the Philippines bi-monthly pay cycle. Hatch Hire placements start on the 1st Monday or 3rd Monday of the month (full process takes 3-4 weeks). Hatch Flex accounts activate on the 1st or 3rd Monday (setup is faster, usually 5-7 business days). On your discovery call we pick the next available date with enough lead time. If a date is too tight we offer the one after, never more than ~30 days wait.

What if my business is unique? Will this work for me?

Probably yes. We've placed talent across trades, agencies, e-commerce, real estate, consultants, online businesses, you name it. The only businesses where offshore doesn't work are ones that need fully on-site, hands-on physical work. If a chunk of your day is admin, design, customer support, content, or anything desk-based, we can offload it. Book a call and I'll tell you straight up if it fits.
