Ethical Employment Agreement

1. Purpose and Commitment

Team Hatch Pty Ltd (“Team Hatch”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to operating ethically, responsibly and with respect for the human rights of all workers within our operations and supply chains.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, exploitation and unfair labour practices.

We recognise modern slavery includes (but is not limited to):

  • Human trafficking

  • Slavery and servitude

  • Forced or compulsory labour

  • Debt bondage

  • Deceptive recruitment

  • Undocumented or coercive work arrangements

  • Forced marriage

  • The worst forms of child labour

Our commitment extends to our internal operations, our recruitment and outsourcing services, and the clients and partners we work with.

2. Our Business and Supply Chain

Team Hatch is an Australian-based recruitment and outsourcing company connecting Australian businesses with remote talent—primarily in the Philippines—through a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), home-based work model.

Our operations and supply chain include:

  • Internal staff and contractors in Australia and the Philippines

  • Workers engaged by or placed through Team Hatch

  • Clients who directly engage remote workers sourced by Team Hatch

  • Third-party technology providers, recruitment tools and platforms

  • Professional services such as accounting, payroll, legal and compliance providers

We acknowledge that outsourced and offshore labour models can present heightened modern-slavery risks due to varying labour protections, economic vulnerabilities and the use of informal recruitment channels.

3. Key Risks

Potential modern slavery risks relevant to our business include:

  • Recruitment and sourcing practices in offshore markets

  • The risk of workers being charged recruitment or placement fees by third parties

  • Underpayment, misclassification or excessive hours, especially in remote work settings

  • Worker dependency on employers or agencies

  • Inadequate visibility over client employment practices or subcontractors

  • Risks associated with digital-only work environments, such as identity misuse or exploiting workers’ lack of technological literacy

We continually evaluate these risks and aim to strengthen our processes as our business grows.

4. Our Approach to Managing These Risks

Team Hatch’s approach to ethical recruitment and modern-slavery mitigation includes:

Fair recruitment principles

  • Workers will never be charged recruitment or placement fees by Team Hatch, directly or indirectly.

  • Candidates are provided clear and honest information about roles, expectations, pay and working arrangements.

Ethical client and partner engagement

  • We seek to work only with clients who demonstrate a commitment to ethical employment.

  • We reserve the right to decline engagements where labour rights or ethical standards cannot be assured.

Due diligence and checks

  • Reasonable screening of clients, contractors and suppliers to identify potential modern slavery indicators.

  • Background checks or verification steps for recruitment where appropriate.

Fair work standards

  • Ensuring workers placed with clients are provided with:

    • Transparent written agreements

    • Clear information about pay, role duties and working hours

    • Freedom from coercion or pressured retention

    • The right to cease engagement without penalties or undue restrictions

No exploitation tolerance

  • We do not work with partners who engage in forced labour, bonded labour, child labour or any form of coercive practice.

Continuous improvement

  • Periodic review and strengthening of policies, agreements and onboarding processes.

5. Expectations of Clients, Partners and Suppliers

We expect all clients, partners and suppliers associated with Team Hatch to:

  • Comply with all relevant labour, employment and human rights laws

  • Provide safe working conditions and fair, transparent terms

  • Ensure workers are not charged recruitment, placement or onboarding fees

  • Pay workers fully, fairly and on time

  • Respect workers’ rights, including freedom of movement and the right to terminate employment

  • Not engage in any form of forced, bonded or involuntary labour

  • Ensure any subcontractors or downstream suppliers adhere to the same ethical standards

Where concerns arise, Team Hatch may request corrective actions, conduct additional checks, or reconsider or terminate the relationship.

6. Grievances and Reporting Concerns

Team Hatch encourages any worker, candidate, client or stakeholder to raise concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation or unethical conduct.

Concerns can be raised confidentially via:

Email: brad@teamhatch.com.au

Reports made in good faith will be treated seriously, investigated where appropriate, and addressed without retaliation or negative consequences for the person raising the concern.

We may also provide additional reporting channels as our business develops.

7. Training and Awareness

As part of our commitment, we will:

  • Provide relevant staff with information or training on modern slavery risks, ethical recruitment and red-flag identification

  • Integrate modern-slavery awareness into recruitment, candidate screening, client onboarding and supplier selection processes

  • Update training as our risk profile or legislation evolves

8. Monitoring and Review

Team Hatch will:

  • Continuously review internal practices, client relationships and supply chain risks

  • Update agreements, contracts and onboarding materials to reflect current ethical standards

  • Document actions taken to identify and mitigate modern slavery risks

9. Review of This Statement

This Statement will be reviewed at least annually or when significant changes occur in our business, supply chain or risk profile.

This Statement has been approved by the Director(s) of Team Hatch Pty Ltd.
