What's an AI Workflow vs an automation?

An AI Workflow is a complete business outcome (e.g., "automate our lead intake") that may contain 5–10 individual automation steps under the hood. We price by Workflow because that's what you actually care about — the outcome, not the number of plumbing steps.
How long does a build take?

Depends on the tier. Starter builds (1 workflow) take 2 weeks. Standard builds (2–3 workflows) take 3–4 weeks. Pro builds (4–6 workflows) take 4–6 weeks. Most clients have their first workflow live in week 2 even on bigger builds, so you start getting hours back fast. The Scoping Sprint sits in front of all this and takes 7–10 days.
Do I need to be technical to use this?

Nope. The whole point of Hatch Automate is that you don't have to think about the tech. We build, deploy, document, and train. You get a Loom walkthrough plus written SOPs. Most clients also add a Hatch Flex team member to run it day-to-day for $449/mo, so the AI side basically runs itself in the background. If something breaks, we fix it. You focus on the business.
Why do you charge for the Scoping Sprint?

Because a real audit takes real work — interviewing your team, mapping your stack, identifying the highest-ROI automations, and writing it up clearly. Free audits are usually shallow because no one delivers serious value for nothing.

The $1,950 is fully refundable against any build over $5k — so if we work together, it costs you nothing extra. If you take the plan elsewhere, we've still done real work and been paid fairly for it.

We pick the right tool for the job. Common stack: Claude / GPT for AI, n8n or Make for workflow orchestration, Airtable / Notion / HubSpot / Pipedrive for data, Slack / Gmail / Outlook for comms. For custom needs we build Claude MCP servers. We're tool-agnostic — your stack drives the choice, not our preferences.
Will it integrate with my current software?

Almost certainly. We work with Xero, Monday.com, HubSpot, Pipedrive, ServiceM8, Jobber, Airtable, Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, Stripe, Shopify, Meta, GA4, and pretty much anything else with an API. If your tool doesn't have a standard integration, we build a custom connector. We confirm all of this in the Scoping Sprint before you commit to a build, so there are no surprises during delivery.
Who actually builds it?

Brad O'Neill — founder of Team Hatch — leads every engagement personally. He scopes, designs, and delivers. As volume grows we bring in a Philippines-based AI/automation specialist for execution, but Brad stays the point of contact and quality control on every build.
What if I want to keep running it in-house?

Perfect — that's the default. We hand over full documentation, all accounts and configs, a recorded walkthrough, and a training session. You own everything. No ongoing fees unless you choose to add Hatch Flex or a retainer.
How does Hatch Automate connect to Hatch Flex and Hatch Hire?

Hatch Automate builds the systems. Hatch Flex and Hatch Hire are how you scale the people who run them.

Most clients follow this path: Hatch Automate to automate the busy work → Hatch Flex ($449/mo, 20hrs) when they need a dedicated person to manage the workflows → Hatch Hire ($4,500 one-off placement) when they're ready for full-time.

You can also start anywhere. Some clients hire first then automate. Some only ever need the AI build. We work with whichever sequence makes sense for you.

Do you build chatbots / voice agents?

Chatbots yes — happy to build customer support or internal Q&A bots as part of a workflow. Voice/phone AI agents (Vapi, Retell, etc.) we currently don't offer — that's a specialist niche we'd rather refer than do badly.
What's NOT included in a build?

Third-party software subscriptions (n8n cloud, OpenAI/Anthropic API credits, Airtable Pro, etc.) — paid by you directly. We'll recommend the stack and help you set it up, but you own the accounts so you keep control. Ongoing daily operation is also separate — handle it yourself or add Hatch Flex.
Is my business data secure?

Yes. We use enterprise-grade AI providers (Claude by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini) and configure every build to comply with Australian privacy standards.

We never train AI models on your data, never share it with third parties, and you own all credentials and configurations from day one. If we ever stopped working together, your system would keep running because you hold the keys.

For clients with stricter requirements (medical, legal, finance), we can deploy on private infrastructure with end-to-end encryption. We work this out in the Scoping Sprint based on your industry.

Can I claim the R&D Tax Incentive?
